Madison County Blasts Indians in Doubleheader Sweep
It was a double-header win for the Madison County varsity basketball programs
Tuesday night in Danielsville.
The Stephens County Lady Indians only scored ten points in the second half as the
Lady Red Raiders came away with a 61-30 victory. Jordyn Jones led Madison
County with 13 points, joined by Carlee Brown with 10. The Lady Indians were led
by Aleria Faulkner with 9 points.
Stephens County’s girls are now 1-8 on the season with the Christmas break in
front of them. Madison County’s girls are even at 5-5.
In the boy’s game, Grant Smith poured in 41 points as the Red Raider boys beat
the Stephens County boys 93-53. Smith scored 31 of his total points in the first
half, ending up with six three-point shots. Altogether Madison County hit 12
three-pointers in the game.
The Indians had two players in double-figures with C.J. Harbin leading the way
with 24 points and Colsen Ivey chipped in with 10 points.
The Indians boys are now 1-7 on the year and Madison County is off to a
9-1 start.
The Indians and Lady Indians are now off until after Christmas when they play in
the Jackson County Holiday Tournament. There will be no radio broadcast games
from that tournament because of other commitments.
The next broadcast game will be on December 31st at Habersham County with broadcast time set for 1:45 P.M. and the girls game starting at 2 P.M.
