Lions Stun Stephens In Final Seconds

After stopping Franklin County on fourth down with a minute to go, Stephens County was seconds from victory. However, the Lions had other ideas.

A miscue on a snap led to a safety and with one last possession, Franklin County scored on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Everett Haselden to Keylan Rutledge on the last play of the game to stun Stephens County 29-28.

In all, the Lions scored eight points in the final 40 seconds of the game and never led until the final buzzer.

Stephens County led 14-0 early after a four-yard touchdown run from Ben Stowe and a one-yard touchdown run from Corey Ibrahim. Late in the first quarter, Chris Goode scored for Franklin County to make it 14-7.

The Indians took a 21-7 lead into halftime after a 45-yard touchdown run from Ibrahim in the second quarter.
