Linda Dorothy Clark Arwood

Linda Dorothy Clark Arwood passed peacefully from this life and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, surrounded by love.

 

Linda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life touched so many. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the constant smile, and her contagious laugh.

 

Linda spent most of her working life employed with Milliken, where she dedicated many years of hard work, strong work ethics, and service.

 

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hubert Arwood. The love and life they shared together remained an important part of her story and the family they built. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Levi Arwood and her son-in-law, Jimmy Nicholson.

 

While her family grieves the tremendous loss of her earthly presence, they find comfort in knowing that Linda’s journey did not end here. On Tuesday night, she met Jesus face to face.

 

Linda leaves behind her loving children; daughter, Gail Nicholson; sons, Wayne Arrowood and Roger Arowood; her grandchildren, Kaylin and Stephen Leopard, Brantley Nicholson, Scott and Ashlea Arowood, and Jared and Mandy Arrowood; several beloved great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

 

She is also survived by her sister, Ruby Staton, with whom she shared the special bond that only sisters can know.

 

Linda leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and countless memories that will continue to be shared for generations. Her voice, her smile, her laugh, her love, and all the little things that made her special.

 

Although saying goodbye is incredibly difficult, her family holds tightly to the promise of Scripture:

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”  2 Corinthians 5:8

 

This is not goodbye forever. For those who share Linda’s faith in Jesus Christ, it is simply until we meet again.

 

Funeral services will be Friday, August 21, 2026, 4 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Leopard officiating.

 

The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 p.m. until the service time at 4 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

 

Interment to follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Linda Dorothy Clark Arwood.
