Lesia Ansley Pruitt

Lesia Ansley Pruitt, a guiding light, a bright soul, and a truly loving person, passed away at the age of 58 in Toccoa, GA, on September 3, 2025.
Born April 13, 1967, Lesia was an exceptional woman, a beloved mother, a friend to all, and a devoted educator who touched the lives of countless children and families. Her kindness, compassion, and generosity inspired everyone around her. With a heart full of love and a spirit that could light up a room, she dedicated her life to spreading joy, kindness, and warmth to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
After raising her three daughters single-handedly and working a full-time job to support her family, Lesia decided to dedicate her life to education. She enrolled at North Georgia Technical College to pursue her degree in teaching and was currently in her third year of school with a 4.0 GPA. Her daughters and loved ones were incredibly proud of the dedication, intelligence, and strength that she showed when deciding to take on a new career and pursue her own education simultaneously.
Lesia was a Head Daycare Teacher at Future Leaders of Tomorrow Learning Academy, where she dedicated her expertise to the children and families she served. Her love for her job and the kids she worked with was evident in everything she did. Because of her outstanding contributions, she was nominated for the 2025 Early Childhood Educator of the Year award. Her kindness, patience, and genuine care made her a beloved figure in the lives of her students and colleagues alike. Her loss is felt deeply by all the children who loved her.
Most of all, Lesia will be missed by her three daughters, who were her pride and joy. She was their rock, their confidant, and best friend. She loved them more than anything and especially treasured their girls’ nights. Lesia had an amazing sense of humor. Every conversation with her was filled with laughter, jokes, and joy. As a mother, she ensured her daughters never questioned how much she loved them, and her love was not taken for granted.
She is survived and celebrated by her three beloved daughters, Samantha Pruitt, Taylor Pruitt, and Sadie Pruitt. She is preceded in death by her father, William Wilton Ansley, and her mother, Margaret Suttles Ansley. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lesia’s amazing friend, Shelby Burke, for her support during this difficult time.
A celebration of life will be held at two o’clock Saturday, October 4, 2025 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Dr. Jesse Colbert officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Save the Children at savethechildren.org in honor of Lesia’s passion and purpose.
