Learn about Cardiac Rehab on Wellness Wednesday
Learn about cardiac rehab today (August 5) on Wellness Wednesday as WNEG General Manager Phil Hobbs interviews Tanya Keith, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Coordinator at Stephens County Hospital.
“For cardiac rehab, we see patients that are post-heart attack, post-stent placement, post-open heart surgery, post-value replacement surgery. We also see heart failure patients. So, cardiac rehab is an important part of your recovery after those procedures or conditions that you may have. It’s supervised exercise, and we watch your heart rhythm, we watch your heart rate, your blood pressure, and everything while you exercise. It’s a course, so it’s over about three-months that you come, and you visit with us, and we just slowly increase the workload that you do, and that your heart does to help your heart and your body recover after those procedures or those conditions that you’ve dealt with.”
You can learn more about cardiac rehab by listening to Wellness Wednesday, brought to you by Stephens County Hospital, after the Noon Report on WNEG.
