Latest DPH and Stephens County Schools Covid-19 Report

The latest report from the Georgia Department of Public Health still has Stephens County with 42 deaths related to Covid-19 and 1,232 positive cases of the virus since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

Locally, the Stephens County Schools Covid-19 update for the week ending October 16th is as follows:

1 staff member with a positive Covid-19 test.

3 staff members quarantined.

71 students quarantined at home.

3 positive students.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, these numbers represent current active cases and are not a running total.

DPH is now reporting two more deaths in Habersham County bringing that total to 74, and now 1,819 total positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, DPH is reporting 16 deaths in Hart County and still 554 cases, Rabun County is  reporting 11 deaths and 408 cases, Banks County is still reporting 8 deaths, but now 534 cases, and Franklin County with 828 total positive cases and 16 deaths.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 337,850 cases, of those, 30,207 have been hospitalized and 7,556 have died from complications of the virus.
