Latest Covid-19 Report for Stephens County Schools-Hospital-Area-State

The Stephens County School System has posted the Covid-19 weekly update for the week ending September 18th:

2 Staff Members with a positive Covid-19 test.

2 Staff Members quarantined.

13 Students quarantined at home.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, the numbers from the Stephens County School System are for current active cases as of 9/18/20 and are not a running total.

The latest Georgia Department of Public Health report now has Stephens County with 966 positive cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The report still has 32 COVID-19 related deaths in Stephens County.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

DPH is reporting Habersham County with a total of 65 deaths, and 1,531 total positive cases of the virus.

Locally, Stephens County Hospital and its facilities have administered 5,048 COVID-19 tests.

Of those, 992 tests have come back positive with 788 patients receiving positive results, 4,025 received negative results, and 31 individuals are still awaiting their results.

Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester says the hospital currently has two patients hospitalized with a confirmed case of COVID-19, and two others hospitalized awaiting results.

In other neighboring counties, Hart County is  reporting 12 deaths and 482 cases, Banks County is reporting 7 deaths and still 460 cases, Franklin County has had 698 cases and 11 deaths, and Rabun County has a total of 317 cases and 7 deaths,

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 302,737 cases, of those, 27,203 have been hospitalized and 6,537 have died from complications of the virus.
