Lake Louise Road will soon reopen

Lake Louise Road will soon reopen to the public.

According to Stephens County Administrator Phyllis Ayers, the road will reopen once the road department finishes patching the road after being closed for more than two years.

In January 2020, the Stephens County Public Works Department closed Lake Louise Road due to extensive repairs and upgrades needed to the Lake Louise Dam.

During the initial closing, Ayers explained that while the road is maintained by Stephens County, the dam is owned and maintained by adjoining landowners.

During the recent Stephens County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, Ayers announced that once the county patches a few places on the road that they’ll be set to reopen it.

“Our engineers have conversed, and they have blessed the reopening of Lake Louise Road once we get patched. Jason’s job now is to get the road ready, and we will remove our barriers,” she said.

Again, Lake Louise Road will be reopening to the public in the coming days.
