Lady Indians Tennis take 3rd Seed Match
The Stephens County Lady Indians tennis team defeated Franklin County Wednesday afternoon by a match score of 3-0 to finish as the 3rd place team from region 8-AAA.
It is the 3rd time the Lady Indians have shutout the Franklin team this season.
The Lady Indians will now play at Dawson County from region 7 in the first round of the state tournament sometime next week. The Lady Indians have an overall record of 10-6 heading into the state tourney play.
The Indians boys’ tennis team lost a heartbreaker to Franklin County by a match score of 3-2. The Indians finish as the 4th place team from region 8-AAA and will now travel to play region 7-AAA powerhouse Wesleyan sometime next week. The Indians have an overall record of 9-6.
First round state tennis matches must be played by April 20.
