Lady Indians Remain Undefeated

The Stephens County Lady Indians improved to 4-0 to start the season with a 58-42 win at Jackson County in Jefferson on Friday night.

The Lady Indians took a 15 point lead to halftime and kept the score in double digits leading by as many as 21 points in the 2nd half.

Ranajah Verdell scored 17 points and NaNa Eades added 15 for the Lady Indians who can equal last year’s win total with a win today vs. Lake Oconee at 3:30 P.M. at the Currahee Arena.

The Lady Panthers fall to 0-3.

In the boys contest, Jackson County jumped out to a 21-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and rolled to a 55-47 win over Stephens County.

The Panthers all-state player Kalib Clinton scored 28 of the team’s 55 points. Kenny Colwell scored 16 points and Chris Sinclair had 12 points to lead the Indians.

Jackson County improves to 1-2 on the season. Stephens County falls to 0-3.

The Indians will be participating in a tournament in Franklin County on Monday and Tuesday.
