Lady Indians Finish Regular Season With Win

 

In high school softball, the Stephens County Lady Indians defeated St. Pius 11-2 on Wednesday thanks in part to Natalie Morgan, who drove in six runners.  Morgan drove in runs on a home run in the first inning, a single in the third, and a home run in the sixth.

Stephens County notched four runs in the sixth inning, thanks to a single by Kayley Sellers, a home run by Morgan, and a double by Emma Whitfield.

Whitfield was the winning pitcher for Stephens County, allowing three hits and no runs over six innings, striking out 12 and walking none.  Mackenzie Rogers threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

The Lady Indians finish the regular season with a 14 & 5 overall record and 7 & 3 in the region.  Stephens Co will enter the region tourney on Tuesday as the 2nd seed on tie breaker criteria over Oconee County.
