KTSCB awards Yard of the Month for August

Keep Toccoa-Stephens County Beautiful (KTSCB) Executive Director James Addison announced this month’s Yard of the Month on Tuesday, August 4. 

“This is one of those that you just keep getting calls and calls, just like we get every month now, and it’s been very exciting to have another yard. We’re at 257 Beaverbrook Drive in Toccoa, and it is a beautiful yard. I know Charlie has really worked in his yard, and it shows how much he has been working on it. Don’t forget we’re doing this every month, and we want to get everybody’s yard that has called and said hey do this yard, do that yard. Just give me a call, my name is James Addison, 706-244-8759.”

Former Stephens County High School (SCHS) Boys Basketball Coach Charlie Morris says being named Yard of the Month is rewarding.

“Well, it kind of gives you a little bit of a reward for all the work you’ve done. This has been a 25-year process of redoing the plants and sodding the yard. It’s a process, and it’s a never-ending battle, and I enjoy doing it. That’s basically what I do is I work in the house and work in the yard.”

Morris coached the SCHS boys basketball team from 1967 to 1979 and taught at SCHS for many years.

KTSCB selects a Yard of the Month based on the number of entries from the community for that particular property.
