In the wake of COVID-19, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp ordered all public K-12 schools and colleges in Georgia to close through the end of March; however, following the meeting Thursday morning, Kemp ordered schools to be closed through April 24.

According to Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey the closure will be reassessed by the school system on April 22; but advises parents to plan for an extended closure.

The Stephens County School System will hold Spring Break beginning on Monday, April 6, and will run through Friday, April 10; during which, there will be no services provided including nutrition.

Those services will resume, following spring break on April 13.
