Investigation into Boy’s Death Continues, Says Toccoa Police Chief

The investigation into the death of an 11-year old Toccoa boy last weekend is not over.

That’s according to Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell who tells WNEG News they are still waiting for the results of an autopsy to determine exactly how the child died.

In a prepared statement this morning, Jarrell said, “Death investigations are serious and very sensitive. However, a death involving a child is one that must be handled carefully and meticulously. We are continuing our investigation in an effort to answer the questions the family and our community may have.”

On Sunday, December 3, Toccoa Police found the body of the child at a home on West Doyle and Tallulah St.

Agents with the GBI were called in to assist in the investigation and the child’s body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta for autopsy.

WNEG continues to follow this story and will bring you more information as it becomes available.
