Indians travels to Habersham Central tonight for the Battle of Currahee Mountain

The Stephens County Indians will make a short road trip to Habersham Central tonight to take on the Raiders in high school football.

Kickoff will be at 7:30 in the rivalry game known as “The Battle of Currahee Mountain.”

The Indians enter this game with a 1 & 3 record after last week’s loss to Rabun County.

Meanwhile, Habersham Central is 1 & 2 on the season—they last played September 6th when they picked up a win at home over White County.

Habersham Central’s game last Friday with Franklin County was postponed due to weather.

The Indians won last year’s game which was played at the Reservation, 41 to 28.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio show, Indians offensive line coach, Jerry Underwood, said anything can happen in a big rivalry game like Stephens/Habersham, but the Indians need to win the line of scrimmage tonight.

Coverage on 93.1 FM and AM 630 WNEG starts at 6:30 p.m. with the Indian Road Show. Coach’s Corner starts at 7 p.m. and pre-game coverage from the stadium starts at 7:15 p.m.

In other Region 8-AAAA action tonight, Madison County host East Jackson; Oconee County host Cedar Shoals, North Oconee plays at Franklin County.
