Indians to play Madison County at home, tonight

Tonight is senior night as the Stephens County Indians will host the Madison County Red Raiders at the Reservation in high school football.  Kickoff will be at 7:30.  This is the final home game of the season and a win by the Indians will put them closer to a spot in the playoffs. The Indians enter the game with an overall record of 4 & 4 and a region mark of 0 & 2 after last week’s road loss to the North Oconee Titans, 31 to 21.  Meanwhile, Madison County is 2 & 6 on the season and also 0 & 2 in the region after losing to St. Pius last Friday, 52 to 28.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio show, Stephens County’s linebackers coach, Kirk Rogers, said the Indians defense has to be ready for a variety of formations by the Madison County offense.

Coverage on 93.1 FM and AM 630 WNEG starts at 5:30 p.m. with the Indian Tailgate Show. Coach’s Corner starts at 7 p.m. and pre-game coverage from the stadium starts at 7:15 p.m.

In the other Region 8-AAAA game tonight, Oconee County will host North Oconee.

Looking elsewhere around the area this evening, Franklin County will play at Hart County, Habersham Central will travel to Winder-Barrow, Banks County is on the road at Monticello, Rabun County will host Oglethorpe County, Commerce will host Riverside Military, and White County will host Chestatee.
