Indians Tennis Teams Split with Tattnall in State Tournament

The Stephens County High School tennis teams split with Tattnall County in the opening round of the AA state playoffs at Stephens County High School on Tuesday.

The Lady Indians won by a match score of 3-2. Winning for the Stephens County team in singles were #1 Nyleigh Hutto, #2 Makayla Rogers, and the #1 doubles team of Leonna Dinh & Ansley Sheriff. The Lady Indians improved their overall record to 15-5 and will travel to Drew Charter for a round of 16 matchup.

The Indians lost by a match score of 2-3. Winning matches for the Tribe was #1 singles Jaron Jones and #3 singles Devon Lynch. With this loss, the Indians end their season with a 12-10 overall record.

This was the final game for boys coach Donny Williams, who with his wife and girls coach Debby Williams, is retiring.
