Indians Take Non-Region Victory at Commerce

Garrett Pless pitched an outstanding game and added two RBI’s at the plate to lead the Stephens County Indians to an 8-3 victory at Commerce on Wednesday night.

Pless pitched 5 2/3 innings allowing just one run on 3 hits while striking out 10 batters and only walking 2. Grant Babbitt finished the game in relief going 1 and 1/3 innings.

The Indians also got RBI’s from Dylan White, Colby Fowler, Nick Randall, Ben Stowe, William Roush, and Konnor Loudermilk.

Pless, Roush, Stowe, and Randall each had 2 hits, and Rhett Arrowood, Ethan Smith, and Ben and Bailey Stowe each scored a run, with Randall and White reaching home plate twice.

Jaxon Foster hit a solo home run for Commerce, and Hampton Hutto added 2 RBI’s.

Commerce used 5 pitchers in the contest with Alex Rainey taking the loss.

Stephens County improves to 12-9 on the season. Commerce is now 10-11.

Stephens County will be back at home on Thursday in another non-region game when they host Chestatee at 5:30 P.M. Airtime is scheduled for 5:20 P.M. on WNEG.
