Indians Softball Season Ends in Game 3 Loss

The Stephens County Indians softball team’s season ended on Thursday falling to Jackson 9-3 in the series final in the 1st round of the GHSA AA State Playoffs.
The Red Devils’ bats got going early, scoring 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning and added 6 more runs as the result of three home runs.
Victoria Clayton had a 2-run home run and 3 hits on the day, Haislyn Cromer hit a 3-run homer and pitched the complete game, and Cassie Glover added a solo home run, her 2nd of the series.
Stephens County seniors Nyleigh Hutto (2) and Aubree Jackson combined for the 3 RBI’s. Karlie Brady scored two runs and Macie Davis also scored.
Jackson improves to 16-11 and will now travel to face top seeded Appling County.
Stephens County ends the season at 14-14.
It was the final game for Indians seniors Hutto, Jackson, and pitcher Elly Hicks, all played on a team that finished top 6 in the state and did a great job of leading a young team this year.
