Indians Rout Tigers in Commerce
Konnor Loudermilk hit a grand slam and had 5 RBI’s and Tyler Zigan added a solo home run and 2 RBI’s to lead Stephens County to a 10-1 win over the Commerce Tigers Tuesday night in Commerce.
Hayden Scott, Christian Hewitt, and Ismael Matias added an RBI each for the Indians who improved to 6-1 on the season.
Noah Strickland pitched 3 and 1/3 innings in relief to get the win allowing just one run on three hits while striking out five. Findley Ward started the game pitching 2 and 2/3 innings of scoreless ball and allowing just one hit while striking out three. Caden Hogan pitched a scoreless 7th inning to close out the game.
Michael Purvis pitched into the 5th inning for Commerce and took the loss. The Tigers are now 1-5 on the season.
Stephens County will return home on Friday when they host Habersham Central. First pitch is scheduled for 5:55 P.M. with airtime set for 5:45 P.M. on WNEG.
