Indians Roll to 3-0
The Stephens County Indians jumped out to a 17-0 lead after the 1st quarter, extended the lead to 45-3 at the half and rolled to a 52-3 thrashing of Cedar Shoals Friday night in Athens.
Javin Gordon had 1st half touchdown runs of 12, 4, and 43 yards and Tripp Underwood threw two touchdown passes, 8 yards to Brock Tankersley, and 51 yards to Davon Swinton, and scored on a 2-yard touchdown run.
1st half touchdowns were set up by Findlay Ward’s blocked punt, Davon Swinton’s 91-yard kickoff return, and another interception from Jonah Swinton.
The Indians gave some of the younger players game time experience in the 2nd half with the running clock. Zykemian Durham’s 8-yard touchdown run on the Indians first drive of the 3rd quarter was the final score of the game.
The Indians defense limited the Jaguars to less than 100 total yard in the game.
The Indians now 3-0 on the season will travel to highly ranked Jefferson next Friday night.
