Indians return to action tonight in game against Oconee County Warriors

After having the previous two Friday nights off, the Stephens County Indians will host the Oconee County Warriors tonight at the Reservation in high school football.  Kickoff will be at 7:30.  This will be the first Region game for the Indians, who enter the game with an overall record of 4 & 2.  Meanwhile, Oconee County is 4 & 3 on the season.  They played their first region game last Friday against the number 3 rated team in Class AAAA, St. Pius, and lost 28 to 14.  The Warriors are coached by former Stephens County Head Coach, Travis Noland.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio show, Stephens County’s defensive coordinator, Laquentin Taylor, said the Indians will face a very good quarterback in Oconee County’s Max Johnson, but they have to be ready to stop the running game too.

Coverage on 93.1 FM and AM 630 WNEG starts at 5:30 p.m. with the Indian Tailgate Show. Coach’s Corner starts at 7 p.m. and pre-game coverage from the stadium starts at 7:15 p.m.

In the other Region 8 AAAA game tonight, North Oconee travels to St. Pius.

Looking elsewhere around the area this evening, Franklin County will play at East Jackson, Hart County will host Monroe Area, Banks County will travel to Union County, Rabun County will host Elbert County, and White County will play at West Hall.

Habersham Central has the night off.
