Indians on a Bye Week, No Game Tonight
The Stephens County Indians football team has the night off tonight due to an open date on their schedule. After 7 games, the Indians are 4 & 3 on the season and 1 & 1 in Region 8-AA play.
They’ll resume their schedule next Friday night, October 18th, when they travel to Dacula to play Hebron Christian. Hebron Christian goes into their open date tonight with an overall record of 6 & 1 and 2 & 0 in the region.
The other 4 Region 8-AA teams—Franklin County, Hart County, East Jackson, and Prince Avenue Christian—also have open dates tonight.
Elsewhere in the area tonight: Habersham Central travels to Alcovy, Madison County will be on the road at Flowery Branch, White County plays at Dawson County, Rabun County will host Oglethorpe County, and Banks County travels to Elbert County. Commerce has the night off.
In middle school football action, the Stephens County Middle School Rebels defeated Rabun County in the NEGIAA semi-finals Wednesday night at The Reservation, 20 to 0. The Rebels will play for the Conference Championship Thursday at The Reservation with kickoff at 5:30.
The Junior Varsity Indians were also victorious—they defeated Elbert County last night at The Reservation, 20 to 13. They will have a week off next week before returning to action Thursday, October 24 at Hart County.
