Indians Get Help From Bears in Win

The Stephens County Indians scored five runs in the sixth inning to come from behind and defeat the Cherokee Bluff Bears, 9-6, Wednesday evening at the Reservation.

The Indians only managed five hits but were aided by seven Cherokee Bluff errors. The Bears took a 4-0 lead into the third inning, thanks to a bases loaded double by Reece Chambers. Stephens County started chipping away at the lead with two runs in the third, single runs in the fourth and fifth, and sending nine men to the plate in the sixth to seal the win.

Cruz Mullinix pitched the first four innings for the Indians, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out five. Josh Henshaw got in one inning of work and Ayden Garmon finished up the game, picking up the win.

Cole Snyder had two RBIs, while Eli Wenger, Isaiah Martin and Ridge Adams had a RBI each.

Stephens County is now 3-2 on the season. The Indians will host the Hart County Bulldogs this evening at the Reservation. Game time is 5:55PM with air time on WNEG Radio at 5:45PM.
