Indians Fall in Extra Inning-State Playoffs in Jeopardy

The Stephens County Indians baseball team lost at home to the Hart County Bulldogs Tuesday night in extra innings 7-5.

After trailing most of the game, the Indians battled back to score two runs and tie the game in the bottom of the 7th Inning on a sacrifice fly by William Roush and a Hart County error.  But in the top of the 8th inning, Hart County scored two runs on wild pitches to take the victory.

William Roush got the Indians within striking distance in the 5th inning with an RBI double that drove in Ben Stowe to make the score 5-3.  Both Stowe and Garrett Pless led the Indians with 3 hits each.  Nick Randall pitched 5 and 1/3 innings giving up 3 hits and striking out 5.

Stephens County out-hit Hart County 11- 6, but the Indians left 11 men on base.
