Indians Face Wolverines For The First Time Tonight

The Stephens County Indians will host the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines tonight in high school football action.

It has been a short week for the Indians as they played Monday night in Carnesville and came away with a 35 to 3 win over Franklin County. Stephens County’s record improved to 4 & 2 overall and 1 & 0 in Region 8-AA.

After realignment earlier this year, Prince Avenue Christian was placed in the same region as the Indians, so tonight’s game will be a region contest. The Wolverines, who won the state title in Class A Division 1 the last 2 years, come into tonight’s game with an overall record of 3 & 3, and a region mark of 1 & 0.

This will be the first time Stephens County and Prince Avenue have met on the football field. Kickoff tonight will be at 7:30 at The Reservation.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio program, Indians assistant defensive line coach, Mike Stowe, said the coaches are looking for the team to be ready to play against a very good football team:
