Indians-Elbert Pre-Season Results from Friday

The Stephens County Indians football team played the first of 2 pre-season scrimmage games Friday night as they traveled to Elbert County to play the Blue Devils.  After giving up a field goal to Elbert County in the first quarter, Stephens County’s Ben Stowe connected with his brother, Bailey, on a 38 yard touchdown pass.  Braden Morris added the extra point to make the score 7 to 3.  Later in the quarter, Indian cornerback Jasec Smith intercepted a Blue Devil pass to stop their drive.
J-V and freshman played most of the third and fourth quarters.  Indian Sophomore running back Jarvis Thompson had a long 47 yard run in the fourth quarter, but a fumble at the 10 yard line ended that drive.
The final score of the night came when sophomore Devin Cobb intercepted an Elbert County pass and returned it 10 yards for a touchdown.  Backup kicker Colton Bartmas kicked the extra point.
