Indians Earn Split at West Oak
The Stephens County Indians boys basketball team outscored West Oak 18-5 in the final quarter to pick up the first win of the season 60-51 on Monday night in Westminster.
The Indians led by nine after the 1st quarter and two at the half, but trailed the Warriors going to the 4th quarter.
CJ Harbin led the Indians with 22 points that included 13 points from the foul line and 3-three-point-shots. Colson Ivey added 11 points and Wilson Stacy 10 for the Indians now 1-2 on the season.
West Oak, now 1-3, was led by Kash Adams with 22 points.
In the girls’ game, Stephens County trailed West Oak 30-12 at the half but battled in the 2nd half before falling 50-36.
Aleah Curry scored 10 points and Lanesia Verdell 9 for the Lady Indians now 1-3 on the season.
It was the Lady Warriors first game and they were led by Kinady Marcengill with 22 points.
The Indians and Lady Indians will host Crescent High School from Anderson, South Carolina on Wednesday night in the home opener at Currahee Arena. The girls game will start at 6 P.M. with airtime at 5:45 P.M. on WNEG.
