Indians defeat White County Warriors, 48-25, in pre-season scrimmage game

After a slow start, the Stephens County Indians defeated the White County Warriors last night, 48 to 25, in a pre-season scrimmage game at The Reservation.

White County scored the first and last touchdowns in the first half, both on touchdown passes.

But in between, Stephens County scored on a touchdown pass from Kenny Colwell to Gamarion Carter and 3 touchdown runs–1 each by Zach Feaster, Hudson Spurlock, and MJ Jones.

The Indians led 27 to 13 at halftime.

Stephens County broke the game open early in the third quarter thanks to two White County turnovers–an interception return for a touchdown by DJ Jones, and a fumble which turned into a 32-yard drive capped off with Colwell’s second touchdown pass of the night to Carter.

Spurlock would score the final touchdown of the night for the Indians on a 36-yard run.

White County tallied two touchdowns in the 4th quarter to make the final, 48 to 25.

Stephens County opens the season next Friday night, August 23rd, when they host Franklin County at The Reservation with kickoff at 7:30.
