Indians Basketball Falls to Elbert County

The Lady Blue Devils of Elbert County won their 19th game of the year Saturday night by defeating the Stephens County Lady Indians 57-39.

Alexus Huff led Elbert County with 15 points and Zoe Evans chipped in with 14 points.

Lanesia Verdell led Stephens County with 8 points.

The Lady Indians fall to 2-17 on the season.

In the boy’s game, the hot shooting Blue Devils scored in double figures in the first three quarters and coasted to an 83-44 win. Four players were in double figures for Elbert County. A. J. Brown led all scorers with 17 points, followed by D. K. Wynn with 16, Santavious Willis with 13 and Grady Jackson with 10.

Colsen Ivey led the Indians in scoring with 14 points and C. J. Harbin contributed 11.

The Stephens County boys are 1-17 on the season.

The Indians and Lady Indians are on the road three times this week with the first road trip to East Jackson on Tuesday night. Airtime on WNEG is set for 5:45 P.M. and tipoff will be at 6 P.M.
