Indian Standout Student Athlete Gordon Signs With Tulane
Javin Gordon, a four-year starter for the Stephens County Indians football team, will be going to New Orleans and playing for the Tulane Green Wave next year.
Gordon, son of Sonja and James Gordon, held a signing ceremony last week and announced his decision before a large gathering of family and friends at the high school. Gordon scored a total of 63 touchdowns in his high school career, 55 of those rushing, and had more than 4,200 yards on the ground, 936 receiving yards, and a grand total of 5951 all-purpose yards.
Gordon was the Offensive Player of the Year this year in region 8-AA and in region 8-AAA last year. In addition to his athletic achievements, he has excelled in the classroom, earning a 4.0 grade point average.
Gordon was originally committed to Duke University, but says he chose Tulane because he believes he can get more playing time as a freshman:
While attending Tulane, Gordon will major in business.
