Hospital Celebrates Successful Year, Announces Initiatives for Coming Year
At a glamorous gathering on Saturday, October 26, more than 100 area citizens attended the 2nd annual Stephens County Hospital Foundation Gala at the North Georgia Technical College Currahee Campus.
The event, MCd by Stephen County Hospital Authority Board Member Bo Dotson, included a presentation by hospital CEO Van Loskoski, who first took time to acknowledge and thank the employees at Stephens County Hospital.
During his presentation, Loskoski highlighted the hospital’s successes from the past year, and announced several new endeavors the hospital is planning for the coming year, and WNEG News sat down with Loskoski after the Gala to hear more details about both the past accomplishments and future plans.
He started by reviewing the gala itself, saying that the event was a success, in and of itself.
He stressed the importance of fundraising in hospital operations.
Loskoksi said the hospital is continuing to work bringing the hospital out of the dire financial condition that came close to closing the hospital August of 2021.
He talked about setting goals for the coming year, and the challenge of besting the past year’s successes.
He talked about the perception of Stephens County Hospital from area residents and stressed that the hospital is not the same as it was 5 or 10 or more years ago.
He credited the staff at the hospital for the advances at the hospital.
Loskoski talked about the hospital’s plans and goals for the coming year, starting with efforts to support the past year’s initiatives.
He then talked about a few new endeavors for the coming year, including a partnership with Children’s hospital Of Atlanta and Mercer University for a pediatric program called the Better Care for Kids Alliance, the purpose being to keep pediatric populations close to home when they need inpatient hospitalization
