Historic plaque unveiling at Just Right Catering, Today

Main Street Toccoa is set to hang yet another historic plaque in the downtown area.

This time it’s at the building that currently houses Just Right Catering, and formerly Main Street Café on East Doyle Street.

The Main Street Café plaque is the fourth in the 2018-2019 series, which is dedicated to downtown buildings and will be unveiled today, at 5 p.m.

Main Street Manager Christian Hamilton says the building which housed the Main Street Café was home to many various businesses over the years, including Lola’s Beauty Salon, Grace’s Beauty Salon, the Main Street Café, and the State Restaurant.

The Main Street Café building features a storefront capable of housing multiple businesses due to separate egresses in the structure, and looks very much the same as it would have back in 1927 when it was constructed.

Additional information will be presented during the unveiling.

The public is invited to attend today’s plaque hanging ceremony.

The historic plaque program highlights historic buildings in Toccoa, and the remaining plaques are set to follow each month. Once all plaques have been installed, they will be added to Main Street Toccoa’s Historic Walking Tour Guide.
