Helen Farmer Westmoreland

Helen Farmer Westmoreland, age 85, widow of Jack Westmoreland and daughter of the late Seaborn & Isabell Kelly Farmer entered into rest on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.

 

After Helen graduated from Toccoa High School, she began her career at The Bank of Toccoa, moving later to West Palm Beach, FL where she worked at the Atlantic Bank. In l972 Jack and Helen moved to Hartsville, SC where she continued her banking career with the Bank of Hartsville. Later she changed her career and worked as office manager for Dr. William Laney and Dr. Dargan Flowers. After retiring they traveled to many states. In 2008 they made a transition to The Manor Retirement Home in Florence, SC.

 

She is survived by her sister, Katherine Rumsey; brothers, Jerry (Gaye) Farmer and Lenox Farmer; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jimmy and Deena Shelley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and her brother Kenneth.

                                                                                                                        

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 in the Stephens Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 1 p.m. until time to leave for the service.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House, 1203 E. Cheves St, Florence, SC 29506; St. Luke United Methodist Church, 302 Dunlap Dr, Hartsville, SC 29550; or to the charity of one’s choice.
