Hart EMC loses 120 years of experience

When a company has a long-time employee retire, it usually means there are some pretty big shoes to fill.

If that company loses two long-time employees at the same time, it’s doubly difficult.

Hart EMC is quadrupling the effect as four employees with over 20-years of experience with the company will retire at the first part of next week.

Angie Brown, who handles public relations for Hart EMC, said quote “All together we have four retiring with a combined years of service of about 120 years altogether,” end quote.

Michael Gibbs has been has served with Hart EMC for 39 years, as systems operator.

Bill Leard has been at Hart EMC for 31 years and is the manager of Member Services.

Donna Robinson, accountant, has been at Hart EMC for 29 years.

And, Terry Cleveland, who is retiring also, has been at Hart EMC for 22 years working in the cashier department.

Brown said the company had a Christmas breakfast for the employees and used that occasion to recognize these four individuals for their years of service to the company.

“We had a retirement breakfast, a Christmas breakfast a couple of weeks ago. We recognized them for their years of service and their hard work. Some of their families were there. We’re just going to miss them so much, they’re such an asset to our company,” said Brown.

Brown also said the company was already in the process of training replacements for the four retirees but that it would be difficult to replace 120-years of experience at one time.
