Hart County Gets Sweep at Stephens County

Led by a smothering defense, the Hart County Lady Bulldogs defeated the Stephens County Lady Indians 66-32 Tuesday night at the Currahee Arena.

The Dog’s defense held Stephens County to 10 first half points, frequently stopping the Lady Indians from bringing the ball over the ten second line.

Dakota Phillips led all scorers for Hart County with 18 points.

Tytiunna Tukes had a great game for Stephens County, leading the team with 17 points.

The Lady Indians drop to 3-14 on the year and 1-2 in region play.

Hart County is now 12-6 and 2-1 in the region.

In the boy’s game, the Bulldogs snapped the Indians three game winning streak with a 67-62 win.

The Dogs got off to a 23-11 start and never trailed after that.

The Indians cut the lead to four points in the final period but could never get the lead.

Cam Lacy had one of his better games leading all scorers with 22 points. Javin Gordon
had 10 points and Anthony Harrison chipped in with 9 points.

Hart County had three players in double figures, led by Tahj Johnson with 19.

Stephens County is now 9-7 and 2-1 in the region, while Hart County goes to 10-8 and 2-1 in region 8-AAA.

The Indians and Lady Indians travel to Monroe Area Friday continuing region action. Game time in Monroe will be at 6 PM with airtime on WNEG at 5:45 PM.
