GSP says pedestrian “darted onto road” before being struck by vehicle Wednesday in Toccoa

The Georgia State Patrol has released information regarding a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in Toccoa.

According to officials with GSP, 24-year-old Toccoa resident Raquon Lewis was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe after abruptly darting onto Big A Road, Wednesday afternoon.

The Tahoe, driven by Destiny House, 20, of Gainesville, was traveling northbound when Lewis ran in front of her vehicle.

House was not injured in the accident.

Lewis was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. At this time, his condition is unknown.

According to GSP Cpl. John Getty, “multiple witnesses stated that the pedestrian was arguing with others in the adjacent parking lot before running onto the roadway.”

The wreck happened around 3:45 p.m.
