Great Southeast Pollinator Census Event on Aug. 21st
Be a part of the Great Southeast Pollinator Census Event on Aug. 21st, says Sidney Gay, Stephens County Extension Coordinator and Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent.
“The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is an event on Friday and Saturday, August 21-22, that the University of Georgia (UGA) actually started, and now other states in the Southeast have been involved in. But we will be hosting a Pollinator Count, where you can come and learn to identify the eight groups of pollinators, and then we’ll count one plant for 15 minutes, and you’ll get certificates and stickers, and there will be snacks. There is no registration required, and you can contact the Extension Office (706-779-5501) if you have any questions. But it is Friday, August 21, at 10 a.m., outside the Chamber of Commerce at the Native Pollinator Garden.”
This is perfect for any age. The Native Pollinator Garden is located at 160 North Alexander Street in Toccoa.
