Gov. Kemp campaigns for Derek Dooley in Toccoa
Governor Brian Kemp campaigned for Derek Dooley, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Toccoa on Thursday, May 7.
The meet and greet was held at Linda’s Place at the Rebel on East Doyle Street in Downtown Toccoa, but the size of the crowd forced it outside, explains Gov. Kemp.
Dooley is the son of former University of Georgia (UGA) football coach Vince Dooley. He was a practicing attorney before following in his father’s footsteps and spending 30 years as a UGA and NFL football coach. Dooley is currently on a “Georgia First Tour” across the state with Gov. Kemp to build momentum ahead of the May 19th Republican Primary and General Election. He made a pledge to the crowd.
Rodney Weaver, owner of Linda’s Place at the Rebel, was thankful for the campaign stopping at his restaurant.
Dooley is running against Mike Collins and Buddy Carter for the Republican nomination.
