Georgia Starting Up “Leaf Watch” Website

Georgia State Parks is again offering its online “Leaf Watch” website to help both residents and travelers keep track of the state’s Fall color.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said that beginning in October, regular updates will keep travelers posted on how Fall color is progressing across the state.

According to the DNR, the peak color in Georgia usually comes towards the end of October or early November.

Georgia’s “Leaf Watch” website is also filled with top trails and overlooks, mountain cabins and campsites, Fall events, and safe hiking tips.

The DNR said that a number of state parks, including Tallulah Gorge, Unicoi, Smithgall Woods, and Black Rock Mountain are among the best state parks for leaf watching.

The state’s “Leaf Watch” website can be found at www.GeorgiaStateParks.org/leafwatch.
