Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrests Douglasville Man after Pursuit on I-85

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at approximately 11:45 a.m., deputies located a vehicle that had previously fled from an agency in South Carolina. The vehicle was spotted on GA Highway 17, where a Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

The driver, later identified as 25-year-old Tyler Evans of Douglasville, GA, refused to stop and entered I-85 Southbound. Evans began driving extremely recklessly, reaching speeds over 120 mph and passing vehicles on the shoulder.

As the pursuit approached mile marker 166, a Franklin County Deputy utilized a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to safely bring the vehicle to a stop. Evans was taken into custody without further incident.
