Football: Indians to Face Cedar Shoals For The First Time Since 2019

The Stephens County Indians will be back in action in high school football tonight as they make their first road trip of the season when they travel to Cedar Shoals in Athens. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30. 

The Indians defeated Elbert County last Friday at home, 38 to 21, to improve their record to 2 & 0. The Cedar Shoals Jaguars are looking for their first win of the season after 2 games. Last Friday, Cedar Shoals lost to Monroe Area, 38 to 0. The Indians and Jaguars have not played each other since 2019.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio program, Indians defensive backs coach Rocky Fulbright said the Indians will face an athletic football team tonight:

93.1 FM & AM-630 WNEG will begin our coverage tonight with the Indian Road Show at 6:30 p.m., followed by Coach’s Corner at 7, and pre-game live from the stadium at 7:15 p.m.

In other games tonight:  Franklin County will travel to Banks County, Hart County will play at Lumpkin County, East Jackson is also on the road at Dawson County, Habersham Central will host White County, Madison County will travel to Loganville, and Commerce will play at Luella. Rabun County has the night off.

In J-V football action last night at The Reservation, Stephens County lost to Jackson County, 45 to 16. The J-V Indians will be on the road next Thursday when they travel to Madison County.

Following the J-V game, the Stephens County Middle School Rebels played Madison County and came away with a victory, 38 to 14. The Rebels are now 3 & 0 on the season and will be off until Thursday, September 12, when they host Elbert County at The Reservation.
