First week of Early voting goes smoothly

This week was the beginning of the early voting period for the State House District 28 rerun election in Stephens County.

Eureka Gober is the Registrar for Stephens County. She says there has been a lot of residents coming through her office to cast early ballots.

According to Gober, at the close of business Wednesday, a total of 430 ballots had been cast.

She says, so far, advance voting has gone smoothly with no issues.

Early voting will continue Monday through Friday from 8a.m. until 5 p.m. until the close of business April 5.

Voters began coming in early Monday for chance to cast an early ballot

On Saturday, March 30, the Registrar’s Office will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. for anyone unable to cast an early ballot during the week.

All early voting takes place at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office located at 12 West Tugaloo Street in downtown Toccoa.

Gober reminds anyone wishing to receive an absentee ballot by mail to request one no later than 5 p.m. April 5.

She says absentee ballots must be received by the Registrar’s Office before 7p.m. Tuesday, April 9.
