Final week of early voting

Friday is the last day to take advantage of early voting, in the May general primary runoff election, for Stephens County residents.

Bill Cochran is Chief Registrar for Stephens County.

Cochran encourages residents, who are unable to vote July 24, to cast their ballots before 5p.m., Friday.

In Stephens County, there is one contested seat that the public will be deciding.

Running for the Stephens County Board of Commissioners’ Post 4 seat are two Republican Candidates James Addison and Bryan Dooley.

The polls will remain open until Friday, July 20.

Polls are open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

All early voting is at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office, which is located in the Stephens County Courthouse Annex on Tugalo Street in downtown Toccoa.

And in other races, Georgia voters will return to the polls July 24 for several runoffs.

Republican Party voters will decide on their nominees for governor, lieutenant governor and secretary of state; while, Democratic Party voters will choose their candidate for state schools superintendent.

The winners of the State runoffs advance to the Nov. 6 general election.
