FCA Holds Tailgate Dinner

The Georgia Mountains Fellowship of Christian Athletes held what was called a “Tailgate” dinner Tuesday night at Piedmont College.

Georgia Mountains FCA Area Director Steve Pruitt tells WNEG the purpose for the dinner “tonight is a celebration, but also a time to develop our ministry to look forward to the coming year”; says Pruitt. “We’ve had a lot of exciting things to happen this year, we had over 125 kids go to camp, and this coming year we think we could possibly have 200 to 225 athletes from our discussion with coaches. This event helps us go into the schools and share the message of Jesus Christ.”

The Georgia Mountains Region is made up of Stephens, Rabun, and Habersham counties. Students and coaches from Rabun County High School, Tallulah Falls, and Toccoa Falls College gave their testimony on the importance of FCA.

The guest speaker for the dinner was University of Georgia football chaplain Thomas Settles which included a video thanking those that support the FCA from former Bulldog’s Sony Michel, Malcolm Mitchell, and Jeb Blazevich.

Pruitt says that donations help with many area of the ministry including FCA camps and those interested can Pruitt at 706-244-0252, or e-mail [email protected].
