Fatal Wreck in Stephens County

The Stephens County Coroner’s Office reports that at 8:27 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, Stephens County 911 received reports of a multi-vehicle accident in the area of Big A Road and Oak Valley Road. Toccoa Fire, Carnes Creek Fire, EMS, Stephens County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Toccoa Police, and the Georgia State Patrol responded to the area. Once they arrived on the scene, they found multiple patients, and one person had been ejected from their vehicle. EMS was able to treat and stabilize patients on the scene. One person was transported by ground, and another person was airlifted to a nearby trauma center for further treatment. Unfortunately, on Sunday, November 30, the person airlifted, 73-year-old Robert Murrah of Eastanollee, succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash. The crash is still under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
