Errors Sink Indians in Loss to Jackson County

The Stephens County Indians, victims of poor defense for the second night in a row, dropped an 8-2 decision to the Jackson County Panthers Tuesday night at the Reservation.

After committing five errors Monday night against Elbert County, the Indians committed seven errors in the Jackson County game.

Four of those errors occurred in the top of the third inning when the Panthers scored three runs.

Another error helped Jackson County score three more runs in the sixth inning.

Once again, the Indians couldn’t muster enough hits or runs and left 8 men on base. Nick Randall and Ben Stowe collected RBI’s for the Indians.

Garrett Pless took his first loss of the year, pitching four and two-third innings, striking out five and walking two. Freshman Ollie Tinglehoff got the win for Jackson
County, going five innings.

Hayden Scott finished out the game for Stephens County while Luke Pruitt pitched the final innings for the Panthers.

The Indians are now 6-3 on the season while Jackson County advanced to 3-7.

Next up for the Indians is a trip to Tiger, Georgia, to take on the Rabun County Wildcats this Friday. Gametime is 5:30PM and broadcast time on WNEG Radio will be 5:20PM.
