Early voting ends today in Stephens County

Early voting ends today at 5 p.m. in Toccoa-Stephens County.

Anyone wishing to cast an early ballot, today is your last chance to vote before Tuesday’s election.

According to Stephens County Registrar Eureka Gober, the registrar’s office will be open today from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for residents to take advantage of the early voting period.

Gober says all early voting will take place on the second floor of the Stephens County Historic Courthouse.

As of Thursday afternoon, there have been 1,244 ballots cast since the early voting period began on Monday, May 18.

Additionally, Gober reminds residents who prefer to cast an absentee ballot that today is the deadline to submit an application for one.

She says all absentee ballots are due back at the Registrar’s Office no later than 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9.

You can also drop off your absentee ballot at the ballot box located in front of the Government Building.

Gober reminds residents on Monday, June 8, at 2:00 p.m. her staff will begin scanning absentee ballots for the Presidential Preference Primary and Primary elections.

This will take place on the second floor of the Stephens County Historic Courthouse.

She adds that the public is welcome to attend to observe the absentee ballot scanning.

For election day voting, on Tuesday, June 9 residents will cast ballots at the Stephens County Senior Center located on Rose Lane, in Toccoa.
