Early voting continues, after busy first day

Early voting started yesterday in Stephens County.

According to Stephens County Registrar Bill Cochran the turnout was strong.

A total of 322 registered voters came out to cast ballots on the first day; and Cochran says he expects more to come in.

Early voting will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday until November 2.

Cochran reminds voters that there will be a Saturday vote on October 27. He says the polls will open at 9 a.m. and will close at 4 p.m. that day.

All early voting is at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office, which is located in the Stephens County Courthouse Annex on Tugalo Street in Downtown Toccoa.

Those who do not vote early will cast ballots on November 6 at the Stephens County Senior Center.

Polls, on election day, will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Cochran says if you want to vote early but cannot do so in person, absentee ballots are still going out.
