Early Morning Accident on Big A Road Leaves One Injured

Authorities say the driver of this vehicle crossed three lanes of traffic and struck another vehicle head-on

Traffic is flowing again on Big A Road after a three-vehicle wreck during rush hour.

It happened about 7a at the light in front of Bell’s restaurant.

Authorities tell WNEG News a female driver was traveling north on Big A Road when she crossed three lanes of traffic at the stop light  and hit a Ford sedan head-on that was traveling south.

An SUV traveling south was also hit.

The driver of the Ford was injured when it was hit head-on this morning

The driver of the Ford Sedan sustained injuries and was taken to Stephens County Hospital.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was also taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known. The driver of the third vehicle complained of injuries but was treated at the scene.

The identities of the drivers have not been released at this time, and no word yet if any charges will be filed.

Motorists traveling northbound on Big A had to be rerouted while crews worked to clear the wreckage.

Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol Toccoa Post continue to work the accident scene.
